Where I Brainstorm, Sketch and Write 1by *masterrohan

Over the months, I've had friends ask me where I go on my "sketch walks." These walks are short trips that I take to rest and brainstorm up ideas for art and writing.

I take one of my sketchbooks along with me and draw anything that interests me in my surroundings, and before long, I'm sketching out ideas for other art or jotting down ideas to flesh out my stories.

The ravine pictured above is one of my favorite places to stop and just soak up the inspiration of nature: birds singing, leaves rustling in the wind, the warmth of sunlight, the cool of the shade ....

It also reminds me a lot of the movie version of HTTYD's forests on Berk. I could easily see Hiccup and Toothless doing some kind of training here. #1:

Do you see the remains of a tree trunk in the ravine? That's where I've sat outlining numerous parts of the Quest story as well as drawing some of the Quest concept art that I've posted.

You're welcome. I love hideaway spots.

I usually hide away in my bed or a quiet room. When I wanna "get away" outside, I go in our backyard or down by the beach. My favorite quiet spots have always been in the country though. My grandparents live near a quiet lake with swans and lily pads. <3
