Hiccup's Quest - The Sword

Here's another picture from Hiccup's Adventure Quest to Dragon's Fire.

Hiccup had fallen into the lower chamber of a cave. While his team mates sought a way to rescue him, he decided to explore his surroundings and discovered that he was standing in the tomb of an ancient sorcerer named Lodrian. Hiccup found himself compelled by an unseen force to take the small sword of the deceased wizard.

In the picture, Hiccup has just picked up the powerful weapon.

Day 68 An Interesting Discovery Part 2

"Using my peripheral vision, I homed in on the small light source. As I neared closer to the faint light, I could now see that it was coming from the floor of a small, natural recess in the cavern wall. My curiosity was peeked; I had to know what was creating this light.

"I entered the small hallowed out chamber. With my eyes now adjusting to the darkness, I could see ..........that this was not just a chamber in a cave. It was a tomb.

"A skeleton dressed in torso armor and a long flowing garment was peacefully lying on the chamber floor. The tiny light I had seen out in the cavern was somehow glowing from the side of this ancient body.

"I reverantly approached the fallen warrior and knelt down beside it. 'How could light be coming from this?' I wondered aloud. As I stretched out my hand to touch the armor, I quickly recoiled in shock. Golden colored runes had appeared on the breastplate of the long dead warrior. They had not been there just a moment before. Glowing in a language I didn't understand, they soon began to rearrange, shape by shape, into a language that I could figure out: Old Dragonese.

"I stared wide-eyed in disbelief, for upon this magical armor I read the following words: 'I am Lodrian, the savior and killer of my people, maker of the golems, loved for my power, hated for my love. I bound the darkness, but in so doing doomed myself. But one shall come after me, a friend of people, a friend of dragons. He shall take up my sword and shall finish what I started.'

"I suddenly felt my left arm reach out and grasp the hilt of the sheathed sword lying still bound to the warrior. As if I were watching in a dream, I pulled out the small sword from its cover and held it up before my eyes, its incredibly piercing light pulsating in brilliant oscillations. I could feel its powerful magic race through my body, and I was instantly transported to the ancient city of Dragon's Fire, it's gleaming white walls towering over me.

"And then, I was suddenly back in the dark tomb, still in my knelt position on the cave floor by the old skeleton. But I wasn't alone. Skullette was nudging me with her head and Visr was beside me, tapping my left shoulder. He was asking me if I was okay, and I absently nodded 'yes'. He studied the grave site and jokingly remarked, 'I hope that's not me at the end of this quest.'

"I smiled back at him as I slowly resheathed Lodrian's sword by my side.



(to anyone listening):"What is taking them so long?! I want something to eat and Fishlegs isn't going to cook anything until golden child Hiccup gets back up here!"
:"Tuffnut, I think I speak for the team when I say: 'SHUT IT!'"
:"........."


:"I think they found him! I see Skullette coming back!"
:"Good! Can we eat?!"
:"After all of that tension? I'm not the least but hungry!"
:"Fine! You sit there, and I'LL go make the food! *unpacks some cooking utensils and food stuff and runs over to a wider part of the ledge to start cooking*


(covering his nose):"What is that awful smell?!?!?!"
:"I think that's dinner. Tuffnut said he was going to cook---"
: "OH NO! FISHLEGS, YOU LET TUFFNUT COOK??? He probably just ruined a whole meal's worth of supplies."
:"Look, here he comes, you can ask-----OH MY GOSH!!!"
: "TUFFNUT!!!------------"
: "YOU'RE HAIR'S ON FIRE!!!"
:"I KNOW!!! PUT IT OUT!!!"
